As you can see, both German leagues top the table. The Bundesliga Two leads the Bundesliga One. Comparing this back to earlier in the season the Bundesliga Two has kept the top spot, as it was also leading the statistics after only 81 games played. It has dropped a little in overall percentage, dropping from 65% to 62.5%, but impressive stuff all the same. The Bundesliga One has climbed 2 places up to 2nd from 4th. It’s overall average has increased from 60% to 61.7% (as we find it this weekend). A note to yourself then if looking for good both teams to score markets; look German first.
Another riser from earlier in the season has been the English Premier League. It has risen three places up to 3rd. It has improved it’s overall percentage rate from 60% to 61.5%.
If we take these results alone, the averages we saw earlier in the season have not varied much from what we’re seeing up to this weekend. This is reassuring and adds a bit more weight to using the above data for the rest of the 2023/24 season.
In regard to which leagues have moved significantly in their ranking, Portugal is certainly one. After only 72 games the Portuguese Primeira Liga was second highest with a BTTS percentage rate of 61%. Now after 210 games it has dropped to 12th place and it’s average has dropped to 54.8%.
We do have a few more entries/leagues in the table now than at the earlier part of the season as we started to include AI tips from the following new leagues once we had confirmed the results were accurate enough; Swiss Super League (straight in at 4 on the BTTS ranking), Belgium Juliper Pro League, Danish Superliga, Turkish Super Lig, Serbian Super Liga and the Austrian Bundesliga.
Now we know which league is the best, let’s take a peak at which team. Looking at the best of the best, who in the German Bundesliga Two had the most matches where both teams scored?
Rank | Team | Games Played | BTTS % |
1 | FC Kaiserslautern | 24 | 75.0 % |
2 | Hertha Berlin | 24 | 70.8 % |
3 | Karlsruher SC | 24 | 66.7 % |
3 | FC St. Pauli | 24 | 66.7 % |
3 | Fortuna Dusseldorf | 24 | 66.7 % |
3 | SV Elversberg | 24 | 66.7 % |
3 | SC Paderborn 07 | 24 | 66.7 % |
3 | FC Nurnberg | 24 | 66.7 % |
9 | Hannover 96 | 24 | 62.5 % |
9 | Holstein Kiel | 24 | 62.5 % |
9 | FC Magdeburg | 24 | 62.5 % |
9 | Hamburger SV | 24 | 62.5 % |
That’s the top 12. Slightly surprisingly, the top team had a percentage of 75%. When we use our data to look across all teams this is the 10th highest of all teams. There are teams in the Swedish, German Bundesliga One, Spanish and English Premier League that (as we write) have percentages above 80%. What we do see in the German Bundesliga Two though is that the percentages are high for all teams in the league. Not one team has a BTTS percentage of less than 50%, so overall as a league you can see why it tops the table.
